<h4>About this questionnaire</h4>
<p>The content of the 2022 database was collected using an online <a href="https://webfs.oecd.org/governmentataglance/Budgeting/2022%20OECD%20Survey%20on%20Green%20Budgeting.pdf" target="_blank">questionnaire</a> and a <a href="https://webfs.oecd.org/governmentataglance/Budgeting/2022%20OECD%20Survey%20on%20Green%20Budgeting_Glossary.pdf" target="_blank">glossary</a> was also provided.

<p>The 2022 dataset provides information on practices across the four building blocks of the 2020 OECD Green Budgeting Framework:</p>
<p><ul>
<li>Section 1 - Context (questions 1 to 4)</li>
<li>Section 2 - Institutional arrangements (questions 5 to 15)</li>
<li>Section 3 - Methods and tools (questions 16 to 27)</li>
<li>Section 4 - Accountability and transparency (questions 28 to 40)</li>
<li>Section 5 - Enabling environment in budgeting (questions 41 to 46)</li>
</ul></p>
<p>A composite indicator was developed, encompassing the four building blocks of the <a href="https://www.oecd.org/environment/green-budgeting/OECD-Green-Budgeting-Framework-Highlights.pdf" target="_blank">2020 OECD Green Budgeting Framework</a> (available <a href="https://data-explorer.oecd.org/vis?lc=en&df[ds]=Design&df[id]=DSD_GOV%40DF_GOV_BP_2023&df[ag]=OECD.GOV.GIP&df[vs]=1.0&av=true&pd=%2C&dq=A......&ly[rw]=MEASURE&ly[cl]=REF_AREA&to[TIME_PERIOD]=false&lo=5&lom=LASTNPERIODS" target="_blank">here</a>). </p>
<p>The 2022 database comprises responses from 36 OECD countries1 and the data refers only to central/federal government practices as of 30 June 2022. Respondents were predominantly budget officials within central budget authorities. The content of the database draws heavily upon self-reporting from governments representing the country’s own assessment of current practices and procedures.

<p>Preliminary results were presented at the <a href="https://www.oecd.org/governance/budgeting/green-budgeting-meeting-3-november-2022.htm" target="_blank">Meeting of the OECD Paris Collaborative on Green Budgeting in November 2022</a>.
