Employees with involuntary temporary contracts by work experience while studying (2024)
<p>The indicator measures the proportion of employees aged 20-34 with at least upper secondary education who are on involuntary temporary contracts, among all those on temporary contracts, broken down by work experience during studies, sex and educational attainment level.</p><p>Employee with a temporary contract is an employee whose main job will terminate either after a period fixed in advance, or after a period not known in advance, but nevertheless defined by objective criteria, such as the completion of an assignment or the period of absence of an employee temporarily replaced.</p><p>Involuntary temporary employment refers to employees who could not find permanent job or whose job is only available with a temporary contract.</p><p>Work experience during studies refers to work experiences at a workplace in a market or non-market unit (i.e. in a company, government institution or non-profit organisation) that were part of the curriculum of the formal programme that led to the highest level of education successfully completed.</p><p>The indicator is based on the EU Labour Force Survey (EU-LFS).</p>
