WBL: Legal Framework, Entrepreneurship, The law prohibits discrimination in access to credit based on gender
The indicator assesses whether the law: (1) explicitly prohibits gender-based discrimination in access to financial services, credit, or loans; (OR) the law prescribes equal access for both women and men to financial products or services; AND (2) if the specific provision on nondiscrimination in access to credit is regulated in a central bank regulation or circular, it must be legally binding; AND (3) the legally binding instruments are accompanied by effective remedies after violation of the principle.
