Global value chain participation - EU perspective (FIGARO application)

<p>Global value chain participation is defined as the sum of backward and forward participation. The backward participation, under the EU perspective, is calculated as a share of foreign (non-EU) value added in EU exports. The forward participation, under the EU perspective, is calculated as a share of value added generated in the EU by non-EU economies’ exports. These three indicators are measured in percentage of total EU exports.</p>
