Adult training - Regions

This dataset provides indicators on adult training in large regions (TL2).

Data definition and source

Adult training is measured here as a percentage of the population aged 25-64 participating in formal and/or non-formal education and training under two reference periods: in the past 4 weeks (source: Survey of Adult Skills PIAAC) and the past 12 months (source: Adult Education Survey (AES)).

Data are collected from Eurostat (reg_educ) for EU countries, and through delegates of the OECD Working Party on Territorial Indicators (WPTI) and the OECD Working Party on Education System Indicators (INES).

Definition of regions

Regions are subnational units below national boundaries. OECD countries have two regional levels: large regions (territorial level 2 or TL2) and small regions (territorial level 3 or TL3). For more information, see the OECD Territorial grid (pdf) and the OECD Territorial Correspondence Table (xlsx).
