Developed by the OECD Development Centre and rooted in the OECD’s <a href="https://www.oecd.org/en/about/programmes/social-institutions-and-gender-index-sigi.html">Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI)</a>, the database offers evidence on how masculine norms shape attitudes, behaviors and gender equality outcomes.</p><p style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0cm;line-height:115%;font-size:16px;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;'>The database is based on the methodological framework developed in the OECD Development Centre’s publication <a href="https://www.oecd.org/content/dam/oecd/en/publications/reports/2021/03/man-enough-measuring-masculine-norms-to-promote-women-s-empowerment_39aee6aa/6ffd1936-en.pdf">Man Enough? Measuring Masculine Norms to Promote Women’s Empowerment</a> (2021)<strong>, </strong>which identifies ten norms of restrictive masculinities.</p><p style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0cm;line-height:115%;font-size:16px;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;'><span style='font-size:16px;line-height:115%;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;'>The data were collected through a nationally representative household survey conducted by Côte d’Ivoire’s National Statistics Office (ANStat).</span></p>
