People at risk of poverty or social exclusion

<p>People at risk of poverty or social exclusion corresponds to the sum of persons who are at risk of poverty or severely materially deprived or living in households with very low work intensity. Persons are only counted once, even when they are present in more than one of the three sub-indicators. </p><ul><li>At risk-of-poverty are persons with an equalised disposable income below the risk-of-poverty threshold, which is set at 60 % of the national median equalised disposable income (after social transfers).</li><li>Severely materially deprived are persons having living conditions severely constrained by a lack of resources, they experience at least seven out of thirteen deprivation items. </li><li>Persons living in households with very low work intensity are those aged 0-64 living in households where the adults (aged 18-64) worked a working time equal or less than 20% of their total combined work-time potential during the past year. Students aged 18-24, people who are retired or who receive any pension (except survivor’s pension), people aged 60-64 who are inactive and living in a household where the main income is pensions, are excluded. </li></ul><p>The MIP auxiliary indicator is expressed as a percentage of total population. In the table, values are also presented as changes over a three-year period (in percentage points).</p><p> The data source is EU Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU SILC).</p>
