Return on equity of banks

<p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(68, 68, 68);">Return on equity (ROE) is a MIP auxiliary indicator. It is a measure of financial performance calculated by dividing&nbsp;the profit or loss for the year by shareholders' equity. In the CBD2 dataset, aggregate ROE is considered a gauge of profitability and how efficient a banking system is in generating profits. Higher ROE indicates higher profitability.</span></p>
