Physical and sexual violence to women by age group

<p>The gender-based violence indicator is based on the results of the EU survey (https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/gender-based-violence) on gender-based violence against women and other forms of inter-personal violence (EU-GBV). Gender-based violence against women is defined as ‘violence that is directed against a woman because she is a woman or violence that affects women disproportionately’ (Istanbul Convention, Article 3,d). This indicator covers physical (including threats) or sexual violence in adulthood. The indicator measures the share of women aged between 18-74, who experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a partner or non-partner.</p>
